This is all folks...

This is from a cartoon I used to watch when I was a child...

Well the journey has been completed at least this semester. There will be many other paths to go through in our lives, what I want to tell you this time that it´s been a pleasure being your teacher I had a great time with you people and I somehow all of you learned in different ways.

We play, we laughed and  we did many different activities in which you spoke, wrote, read, listened to English. Somehow I think this is the way we should learn everything. Learn by doing and have fun doing the different activities, enjoying the learning, although it may mean hard work and effort but at the end of the day you feel happy because it was worth.

And for some of you who could not make it this time there will we plenty good of opportunities to  improve, the important thing is to keep trying and never give up, you can always try to do your best.

I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a very good new year hoping that the next year is much better for you and all the Chileans who suffered different losses or in any other way.

10th Task: Essay

In this last task you are going to write an essay, it could be on one of these topics;

1. Your experience learning English at the university / A general reflection
2. The use of technologies within the different subjects you've studied this year (Review/opinion)
3. Chile 2010: What are your views on Chile's bicentennial year?

Essay Structure:

- Introduction (about 80 words)
- Body: 2 or 3 paragraphs (about 200 words)
- Conclusion: (about 70 words)

The idea is that you prepare it, think about it, in advance, follow the instructions that I´ve posted on our site, on how to write an essay.

What do you think guys you are re completley free to choose whatever topic you like, although the idea is that it has to be something you are really interested in.

8th Task: How green are you?

We are getting close to the end of the year this time, we have to think about ecology , how ecological is each of , are you, am I?

Some Ideas;

_ Where do people learn about enviromentally friendly practices?

- Have you incorported recycling into your habits?

_Describe

_Do you use a bike or your legs instead of a car?

- Have you joined or supported any eco-organisations? Why/Why not?

- What else have you done /would you like to do?

- What have you done to reduce your carbon footprint?

- What's missing in our society/Santiago ragarding this issue?

7th Task Chilean Miners, San Jose Issue

It was a very sad day in August when we were all shocked and surprised by the accident that 33 chilean miners had had at the San Jose Mine.

For quite a time nobody knew if they were alive or dead, nor where they were located and how deep were they.

They spent 68 days under 700 meters and finally they were rescued one by one...

Take a look at this site and look for articles that might interest you.

For example I found an article that talks about how Inequality causes headaches in Beijing, or another that talks about nobel Prize winner Vargas Llosa. There is also an interesting article about women cyclists or may be you might be interested in reading about an anti Putin calendar created by russian students.
